ANN DEVINE:
Ann Devine is a multifaceted artist and educator with a passion for nurturing young talent, grounded in extensive professional experience. Ann earned her BFA in Theatre Arts from CAP 21 Musical Theatre Conservatory. A working actor with various NYC agents and touring experience, Ann honed her skills while immersing herself in New York City's vibrant theater scene.
Building upon her performance career, Ann transitioned to education, earning a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. This blend of professional experience and academic rigor has shaped her unique approach to teaching and directing. From 2021-2024, Ann served as a full-time middle school theatre and dance teacher, a role in which she was the first to bring dance to the middle school level. For this innovative work, she was also elected a Frederick County Public Schools Essential Member.
After a decade of working with Rock Ridge High School on and off, Ann is now the proud full-time Rock Ridge High School Theatre Arts Teacher/ Director. Her commitment to education extends beyond the classroom, as she has been an integral part of organizations such as RRPA and Broadway Bound for over 10 years. Through these collaborations, Ann has guided and mentored young talents, helping them discover their artistic potential and nurturing their growth as performers.
Alongside her teaching endeavors, Ann has showcased her directorial skills, leading numerous successful productions. With an impressive repertoire that includes The Little Mermaid, Ride the Cyclone, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Descendants, She Kills Monsters, Frozen Jr., Mulan Jr., and Moana Jr., and more. Ann demonstrates a keen ability to bring out the best in her cast/ crew while creating captivating and memorable theatrical experiences.
Ann's extensive background in both performance and education has equipped her with a deep understanding of the transformative power of the arts. Ann believes in the importance of storytelling as a means of self-expression, kindness, empathy, and personal growth.
